This gallery will cover all aspects of Stagecoach South. Examples of the fleets included in this collection are Southdown, Hampshire Bus, Hants & Surrey, Kent and all the rest associated under the title of Stagecoach South. At present there are several photos in the galleries that are not associated with Stagecoach South. These will be deleted, moved or reorganised in the next few days.
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Dart SLF/Alexander ALX200 Few Alexander ALX200 Darts have started life outside London with Stagecoach, and those allocated to Stagecoach South are no different. The majority have come from London down to Worthing and Basingstoke, but have been cascaded to other depots around Stagecoach South following delivery of newer buses. My personal local batch are a few at Portsmouth depot in Farlington, cascaded from Basingstoke. |

| Fri 3rd Mar 2006 South Dart SLF/Plaxton - Dennis examples This gallery contains all the earlier Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton examples of the Dart SLF that Stagecoach South operate.
Winchester have a few (mainly ex-Hong Kong) that were former Park & Ride vehicles that see service around the city. The most numerous in this gallery are an X---VAP of Dennis Dart SPDs that operate route 23 (Portsmouth - Leigh Park) and photos of nearly all of them can be seen here, in a variety of different liveries. |

| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Dart SLF/Plaxton - Transbus & ADL examples During 2003-6, a vast number of Transbus and Alexander-Dennis made Dart SLFs with Pointer 2 bodywork entered service with Stagecoach South. A number went to Hampshire Bus for Winchester and Basingstoke, while another batch went to Portsmouth for route 21. This gallery primarily illustrates the path of these Darts, of which most are still locally in service.
A couple have moved to Devon... click on the link at the bottom of the page for photos. |

| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Dart/Alexander Dash Stagecoach South operate a wide variety of ex-London Darts with Alexander bodywork across the whole company. There are many N---AMC examples new to Stagecoach London which operate from Winchester. There are also a large amount of new Darts with Alexander bodywork that were new to Stagecoach Coastline that feature in this collection, such as the J---GCDs and N---PAPs. Although they are decreasing in number all the time, some do still operate, and in 2006, some were retrofitted with brand new LED orange displays. There are also many other batches of Alexander bodied Darts in the fleet, as illustrated in this gallery. |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Dart/Pointer Stagecoach South, in the past, have operated a large number of Dennis Darts with Plaxton Pointer bodywork. The main origin has been London and Hong Kong. Indeed, prior to the introduction of the new batch of Darts on the 21 (Havant - Portsmouth), these buses operated the mainstay of the route. However, with a continual influx of new Dart SLFs, it is incredibly hard to find any examples of these in service. |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Dennis Tridents Stagecoach South's initial Tridents were a couple of P&R ones down in Kent and a few T---KPU ex-London samples in Andover. Since then a large delivery has been made to the Coastliner 700 route - one (18510) has been taken into a model by CMNL. Several have also seen service in Canterbury and Andover. |
| Tue 12th Feb 2008 South Enviro200 Darts Stagecoach South took a delivery of a large batch of Enviro200 Dart SLFs to replace the Transbus examples that entered service during previous years. They are very smart and look hugely impressive operating around Winchester (Basingstoke also have a number). I've caught a few on camera during a 45min trip to Winchester.... which was halted by the setting sun... more to come later this year when I get back up to Winchester. |
| Tue 12th Feb 2008 South Enviro300 saloons Stagecoach Hampshire operate 5 Enviro300 single deck saloons from Winchester depot; 4 on Park and Ride duties and a further example in fleet livery that can be found on a variety of services.
Furthermore, in 2008, a large batch of Enviro300s with the new ADL styling were delivered to Portsmouth for route 23 (Leigh Park to Southsea), upgraded from previous Dart SPDs. These impressive buses carry "Surf" branding (except two). |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Leyland & Volvo Olympians Stagecoach South's operation operates a large batch of Alexander RL bodied Olympians, from various batches. N, P, R and S examples cruise the south on various routes around Hampshire. This gallery contains both Hampshire Bus and Coastline/Southdown vehicles. |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Mercedes-Benz Minibuses Stagecoach South, previously operators of a fairly large number of minibuses, now operate a few which are thinly spread across the operating area. Previous strongholds of minibuses in Andover and Bognor have died out with the introduction of Optare Solo minibuses, and now only a few still find service. This gallery covers all minibus operations across Stagecoach South. |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Volvo B10M single decks Stagecoach South has a variety of Northern Counties bodied Volvo B10M saloons. Several are in service from Winchester and Chichester depots and some are illustrated here.
The favoured bodywork for these buses is the Alexander type, which also feature heavily in this collection. These are spread over the operation of Stagecoach South. Some in Chichester carry branding for "The Link" service 51, as illustrated in this gallery. This collection contains ALL bodyworks for Volvo B10M single decks. |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 South Volvo B6s A large batch of repatrioted Volvo B6s work for Stagecoach South. These have moved back from Hong Kong operations. The ones in this gallery are allocated to the Portsmouth depot usually for use on the Havant routes. Some occasionally get into Portsmouth on the 21, 22 or 23 but this is rarer with the introduction of the 53/04 reg Darts. |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 Withdrawn/Past - South Bristol VRs and Leyland Titans Stagecoach in the South of England once had a sizeable fleet of VRTs and some ex-London Titans in service. However, after the past years many have been withdrawn leaving no VRTs in service any longer. There may be a few Titans left with Kent. |
| Sun 23rd May 2004 Withdrawn/Past - South Coaches From 2004-5, Stagecoach South operated an extra 800 express service from Bognor Regis - Southsea to run alongside the 700. Unfortunately, it appears to have been little used as the coaches have moved on and now the 800 has been decommissioned. Here are some photos taken during its relatively short operation. |
| Sun 26th Feb 2006 Withdrawn/Past - South Volvo Citybuses Back in the early 1990s, a small batch of Volvo Citybus were acquired by Southdown for use on the 700. These were the last buses to be bought by Southdown prior to takeover by Stagecoach.
Today, the Citybuses have largely moved on to Devon. Two examples can be seen in the Devon gallery which have moved on. |
